Prestige Financial Group partners with a local non-profit charity organization, Back to School Extravaganza. Back to School Extravaganza is non-profit who provides school supplies & clothes to families in central Texas. This is charity organization was started in 2014 from scratch by founder, John Wayne Southerland, by knocking on doors in a poor community and asking families if they needed help with their kids back to school shopping. The response was overwhelming, as most of the families we serve are extremely low income and most with only a single-mother taking care of multiple kids.
Here's a recap of what we've been able to accomplish with support from the community since 2014:
2014 - Year 1 - 12 students. $2,000 raised (99% from the founder)
2015 - Year 2 - 40 students. $4,000 raised
2016 - Last year - 100 students. $10,000 raised - HUGE SUCCESS (we even had LIVE news coverage!)
This year - 150 students expected!
This year, we are hosting a city-wide kickball tournament on August, 12, 2017 at 9:00am at the University of Concordia Athletic Complex. Details for the event can be found on b2sganza.eventbrite.com or on the organizations Facebook page: Back To School Extravaganza - Central Texas.
To support the Back To School Extravaganza, the organization has two requests:
1. If you are able to donate, the kids appreciate it! There are Corporate Sponsorship levels for you to consider for a business deduction as well. 100% tax deductible - we are registered 501(c)(3). Receipts available upon request.
2. Please share our fundraising campaign with ANYONE who is open to listen and support - friends, customers, business owners, social media, etc.
Social media posts are definitely welcome. Like our page https://www.facebook.com/Back2schoolextravaganza/
"There's NO WAY I can raise enough money on my own - help and support from the community is imperative for the success of this event so I THANK YOU in advance! It's cool to see so many people support us over the years!", says founder John Wayne Southerland.
